LEVEL I &#8211; The goal of the course is to provide the skills and tools necessary to become a Juvenile Firesetter Intervention Specialist I. The class will address the NFPA 1035, Juvenile Firesetter Intervention Specialist I, including Introduction, Primary Prevention, Identification and Intake, Who Sets Fires and Why, and Interviewing and Intervention Strategies. Prerequisites: Individuals who have responsibilities related to juvenile firesetting intervention, interviewing, and prevention. The target audience includes practitioners who interact with children who are involved in firesetting and/or arson behavior and their families. In addition to the fire service, professionals from a myriad of fields including mental health, law enforcement, education, counseling services, and social services can benefit from the training.<br />
LEVEL II &#8211; The goal of the course is to provide the skills and tools necessary to become a Juvenile Firesetter Intervention Specialist II. The class will address the NFPA 1035, Juvenile Firesetter Intervention Specialist II including Identification and Intake, Coalition Building Support and Management, Budget and Funding, Development of a Juvenile Handbook, Resource Directory, Database, and Program Evaluation. Prerequisites: NFA (JFIS I) (F/W626)<br />

<p>The conference committee is currently accepting workshop proposals.</p>
<p>Speakers will present workshops in two hour sessions which are interactive and provide take-home strategies and best practice information. The conference committee is especially interested in proposals on models of interventions with the complicated issues that often co-occur with fire-setting, or cutting edge information on working with specialized populations. Proposals that ad-dress the following issues are highly desired:</p>

<p>▪ Conduct Disorder/Delinquency</p>
<p>▪ Self Harm/Self Injury</p>

<p>▪ Female Firesetting</p>
<p>▪ Younger Children</p>
<p>▪ Attachment/Trauma</p>

<p>1. A Descriptive/Creative Title &#038; Session Abstract: 240-300 word description/outline of which may be used as workshop description in attendee registration information. Include three (3) measurable learning objectives for CEU /OEMS purposes.</p>

<p>3. List of Presenters: Include name, affiliation, bio, and CV / resume for each presenter.</p>
